| Description | Grave #1 is a very large (86 meters long) built for an aristocrat of the XiongNu culture. Some of the most prized silver goods in the Mongolian national museum come from this site. Silver Boldgiv in Daamgard 2018 paper describes Balgasyn Tal of Öndör-Ulaan Soum in the province of Arkhangai Aimag and gives coordinates as at 48°00'63.82"N, 101°20'72.35"E (but those are not valid DMS, exceeding 60 seconds). Allard et al 2002 describe Grave 1 at the northwestern edge of the Gol Mod-2 cemetery - interpolating from his map suggests Grave 1 is at 48°00'22"N 101°12'28"E = 48.006111, 101.207778. |
