| Description | Also called Castle of Anaghs, O'Kane's castle and O'Cahan's Castle. Detailed study in 2011, showed it was located on what was called Green Island on Loch Enagh in County Derry belonging to the O'Meallain sect of the Ui Neill. It was besieged by cannon and captured by English forces in June 1601. Today the site is a penninsula. |
