DescriptionBetchworth is a village and civil parish in the Mole Valley district of Surrey, England. Bronze age artefacts have been found in Betchworth but no Roman materials have been found. State records show the name as Becesworde, (11th century), Beceswrde, (12th century), Bechesworth, (13th century. Betchworth lay within the Wotton Hundred and was recorded with two entries in the Domesday Book as Becesworde. Wonham and Betchworth manors were key featues in the feudal era. In the industrial area, Lime kilns and quarries were important industries.
