| Place Name | Salford |
| Description | The City of Salford is a city and metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, England. It is named after its largest settlement, Salford, but covers a far larger area. Numerous Roman artifacts have been recovered in the area but it did not really develop until the industrial revolution of the 19th century. That development was fast paced and tended to degrade into slums. Declining industries have reduced the population since World War II. |
